Recommended Websites - How to Evaluate Sites

When selecting websites on these topics for research, consider the following criteria:

Is the information balanced or biased?

Look at the "about" page of the site to determine the purpose or intent of the site.

What is the domain (.edu, .org, .com) and how might that influence the purpose or point of view?

What are the credentials of the author and is there evidence they're experts on the subject?

Is the author presenting fact or opinion?

Is the site sponsored or published by a reputable organization?

Locating Print Sources

Search for print sources in the Charles F. Brush Library using CAT, the online library catalog.  Click eBooks to include hundreds of titles owned by the Brush Library and available through INFOhio.

If you have a Greater Access Card, you can do research from the Cuyahoga County Public Library or the Cleveland Public Library at school or home.
